Thanks to the lovely Al over at Al's Food and Fitness Adventures, I have finally started a bit of a health kick and am determined to shed some serious poundage. I’ve followed her blog for a while and have been inspired by her writing, like you have I’m sure, as well as her inspirational before and after photos. I’ve also picked up a lot of tips along the way and now it’s time to apply them to my routine. As suggested by Alex I joined MyFitnessPal.com and since it comes with a handy app for the iPhone and others, it’s turning out to be amazing. You can read my very own review of it here.

That’s not what this post is about though. MyFitnessPal is helping me track my calorie and exercise intake, but I think it’s ‘grazing’ that’s going to help me eat the right things and get the nutrition that my usual diet has been sorely missing. What do I mean by that? Well no, I won’t be munching on grass, despite the obvious health implications. Graze.com is a very cool website I recently discovered. Through the wonder of Twitter, I received a promotional code for a free Graze box and never one to turn down a freebie, I joined and received my sample in the office post this week, much to the intrigue (and later envy) of my co-workers.

So what is Graze box? Well it’s a pack full of healthy goodies that you can ‘graze’ on throughout the day, keeping your hunger down, and your energy levels up. Hopefully replacing other, less healthy things you might otherwise snack on. But that’s not all! The Graze site stores information you enter and your Graze boxes are then specially prepared based on that information. A typical Graze box contains 4 packs, which are selected for you randomly at first. After you’ve explored the site’s range a bit and done some ratings, the items your sent will begin to match your preferences.

For most I imagine it will be part of the fun to wait for the delivery and see what’s been picked for you to try that day. For someone picky like me, who is a beginner at the whole healthy eating thing, you have the option of rating the entire range and to ‘Bin’ anything you never want to see in your Graze box. Likewise you can ‘Like’ or ‘Love’ each of the product types, which will increase the chances of seeing one of them upon opening your box. Originally all products will be rated ‘Try’ until you alter them.

What kind of things can you expect to see in a Graze box? Well there are over a hundred product types from dips and dippers, and crackers, to flapjacks and dried fruits, nuts and seeds in fun combinations. Want some examples? How about Apple slices with a toffee dipping sauce, a surprisingly interesting apple and pear chutney, Citrus infused dried fruits, hickory smoked seeds, bruschetta and so much more. As a handy side note, the range seems to have been added to MyFitnessPal, which makes things so easy for people who are tracking.

Now I can’t shed too much light on the nutritional benefits of Graze but I can help you with a bargain. Join Graze.com right now where you can get a free Graze box by using this promotional code - 92CFR1WT Follow Grave on Twitter

Graze is the kind of company I like. They’ve got nice marketing, a very attractive and easy to use website, they use recyclable materials, sponsor a charity and encourage donations via their FREE sample voucher scheme, and offer a quality product! They’re making healthy eating easy and fun. Here’s hoping they do well.
